God’s Promises

The disciples needed proof too, after Jesus calmed the storms they exclaimed ..” you really are God’s Son” and everyone knows about Doubting Thomas.

Jesus chided the Pharisees for having greater than Solomon and Jonah among them yet they were still in doubt……Matthew 12 v 38-42 and he also told his  disciples “if you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can move mountains”……..

Emotions are unreliable and feelings are fickle and deceptive…….faith for me, is halfway between ignorance and certainty………let me quote Ravi Zacharias   “God has put enough into the world to make faith in Him a most reasonable thing. But He has left enough out to make it impossible to live by sheer reason or observation alone” Faith, I believe therefore, first requires knowledge- knowledge of God’s promises and knowledge of who Jesus is, knowledge of what Jesus did for us ……then trust, then action……..

We can have faith in anything or anyone- but being a Christian requires putting faith in Jesus Christ. Without faith it is impossible to please God well……Hebrews 11 v 6
